Hi Lila, as long as you are staying within the perimeters of Step 1 like not eating more or less than what is on the plan then splitting it up into 5-6 small meals is fine.
Some believe this helps to speed up metabolism and keep your energy up.
It would only lead to weight gain if you weer choosing the wrong foods like processed foods or high fat fried foods of course.
