Hi Kathleen,

I found the Optional Plan very easy to follow.

1. add one item from the approved Fruit list with my breakfast. Example… ITG Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal with ½ Cup fresh Strawberries

2. add one item from the approved Grain/Starch list with my lunch. Example…ITG Veggie Chili with ½ Cup of cooked rice, 2 Cups Broccoli / Cauliflower mix

3. add one item from the approved Dairy list with my dinner. Example…Lean Beef hamburger with 1 Cup low-fat cottage cheese, and a Spinach Salad.

4. ITG Bar (LIMITED ITEM) for snack while watching TV.

Then the next day I will switch it up…

1. Breakfast – ITG Veggie Omelet with Mushrooms, green pepper and a slice of American Cheese (Dairy)

2. Lunch – ITG Cream of Chicken Soup with 4-6 low carb crackers (Grain/Starch) and Spinach Salad

3. Dinner – Grilled Chicken Breast with grilled veggies and ½ cup mixed fruit (Fruit)

4. ITG Bar (LIMITED ITEM) for snack while watching TV.

I hope this helps your husband get some creative ideas of how to cook healthy for you while you recover from your surgery. Best of Luck!!!
