Hi Shannon,

Constipation can happen on a higher protein diet. There can be a few factors contributing to this:

1. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. If you don't drink enough, you may be dehydrated which will cause constipation. Eight 8 ounce glasses per day is the minimum water intake, so try to increase your water intake to a couple more than 8, especially if consuming caffeinated beverages (coffee, tea, soda).

2. Make sure you are eating enough vegetables and salad. You may need more fiber added to your diet which will help things along.

3. Typically your body will adjust and become regular after a couple weeks of allowing your body to become used to the diet plan. If you need some help, you can also try adding our decaffeinated Total Tea once per day to help detox and have some regularity.
