ITG Recipes for Steps 1-3

Feel free to enjoy the recipes here that can be used on the ITG Diet Plan.  One of our coaches has looked at, approved and most of the time has cooked the recipes we are sharing here.  We did not invent all of these recipes and will try to credit the author when provided.  Plan accordingly depending on the step of the plan you are on.  If you have a recipe you would like to share please send it to us!

Green Beans w/ Blackened Sage and Hazelnuts

For Step 3 of the ITG Diet Plan



For 8 people ()


  • 1 tablespoon(s) Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tablespoon(s) Olive Oil
  • 0.5 cup(s) Chopped Fresh Sage
  • 3 Garlic Cloves (finely chopped)
  • 2 pound(s) Green Beans (trimmed)
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) Sea Salt
  • 0.25 cup(s) Hazelnuts (chopped)

Green Beans w/ Blackened Sage and Hazelnuts Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Heat butter and oil, then cook sage until it begins to blacken, 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook until golden, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add beans and salt; toss to coat.
  5. Carefully add 1 cup water.
  6. Steam until beans are fork-tender and most of the water has evaporated, 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Sprinkle hazelnuts on top and serve.
