Be Prepared!     Have I told you my biggest pet peeve with ITG Diet? Well the exclusion of Wine and Spirits of course.   My spirit is vodka…I miss her so…lol

The same day I started the ITG Diet, January 6th,  my son joined the US Air Force. Yesterday he tells me his recruiter called and he will be leaving for Basic Training Tuesday February 4th.  What? Is this really happening? So quick? Once the fog cleared from being in shock, I thought to myself, I’m going to have a drink tonight at my GF’s daughter’s 21st bday party. Then my next thought was, you’re on a diet silly, NO DRINKING!  Here I am at Day #13 and I thought I had a good reason to cheat.

I remembered reading an article on ITG Diet website called The Real Costs of Cheating on the ITG Diet Plan The only person I would be cheating is myself.  And it clearly says in Tips for Success to avoid alcohol – it adds non-nutritious calories and stimulates your appetite.  It dehydrates your body and will slow down your weight loss (alcoholic beverages will take you out of ketosis, your fat burning mode.), I don’t want to jeopardize my quick weight loss from the past 12 days.  That was the last thought I had about having a drink.

I was late getting to the birthday party, of course. Lol …the rest of the party had already ordered their food and were already enjoying their Wine & Spirits.  I no sooner sat down and the fresh, hot, sizzling food was being served.  These were small bar top tables and the girls had ordered a bunch of appetizers.  Guess what got sat down right in front of me, before I even had a chance to order my water, Buffalo Chicken Flat bread!  (My favorite, well anything spicy really.) Did this really just happen to me? Seriously? Of course it did.  And it’s going to happen to you too so … you know my moto….BE PREPARED…

Next I ordered a glass of water.  When it came I drank all but about eight ounces. Next I got my ITG shaker out of my big baby (what my friends call my purse due to its size) and an ITG protein drink mix, poured the remaining water in and gave it a good shaken.    Then I poured my evening snack back into the water glass and voila!    You girls go ahead and eat your flat bread and drink your spirits.  I’ll pass, I’m sticking to my diet and in three months I should be close to my goal weight and then I’ll come back on my Reward Day and have that Flat bread and a few spirits.  Until then, I’m gooood.
